What we do

From digging a new pool to fixing the pump on an old one.

  • New builds

    Gunite pools

We spray concrete over a steel frame, so the pool can be any shape and depth your garden has room for. It takes longer than dropping in a shell, and it lasts.

The finishing work

What goes into a pool once the concrete is done.

  1. Interior finishes
    01

    Interior finishes

Marbelite in a colour you choose, or a fibreglass lining. Colours look different under water, so we bring samples you can see wet.

  2. Mosaics
    02

    Mosaics

The band of tiles along the waterline takes the most wear. We lay them straight, grout them properly and help you pick ones that won't date.

  3. Coping
    03

    Coping

The stone edge where everyone sits with their feet in the water. We bed it down properly so it doesn't lift or crack.

  4. Pumps and filters
    04

    Pumps and filters

Matched to how much water your pool holds. Too big wastes electricity. Too small and the water never quite clears.

  5. Leak repairs
    05

    Leak repairs

Topping up more than the wind and sun can explain? You probably have a leak. We'll find it, fix it and show you what was wrong.

  6. Maintenance
    06

    Maintenance

Regular visits to keep the water clean and the equipment running, for houses, blocks of flats and guest houses.

How we build a new pool

01 Site visit and quote

We come round, measure up, check how a digger will get in and talk about how you want to use the pool. Then we send you a written quote. It costs you nothing.

02 Digging

We mark out the shape and dig it to depth. Cape soil can be anything from soft sand to solid rock, and this is where we find out which one you've got.

03 Steel

Steel bars are tied into a frame and lifted off the ground, so the concrete can cover them completely. It's what stops the shell cracking years from now.

04 Shell and plumbing

The gunite is sprayed onto the steel and shaped by hand. The pipes go in and get pressure tested. Then the concrete is left to cure, and we don't rush it.

05 Finishes

Marbelite or fibreglass on the inside, then the waterline tiles and coping. This is the week it starts to look like your pool.

06 Fill and handover

We fill it, balance the water and set up the pump, filter and chlorinator. Then we show you how it all works, and it's yours.

And then you swim.

How we build a new pool

The most important work happens before there's any water in it.

Questions

Things people usually ask us first.

What's the difference between gunite, fibreglass and Marbelite?

Gunite is how the pool is built: concrete sprayed over steel. Marbelite and fibreglass are what goes on the inside. Marbelite is a marble plaster that comes in different colours. Fibreglass is a smooth lining, and it's a common way to redo an older pool. Once we've seen yours, we'll tell you which makes sense.

My pool's in a bad way. Do I need a new one?

Probably not. A lot of our work is bringing old pools back: relining, replastering, new tiles and coping, fixing leaks. If yours really does need rebuilding, we'll show you why before we quote for it.

Do you work in my area?

If you're in the Western Cape, yes. We've worked in Hout Bay, Constantia, Camps Bay, Bishopscourt, Blouberg and Kuils River, and plenty of places in between.

Is the quote actually free?

Yes. We come out, have a look and send you a price. If you decide not to go ahead, you don't owe us anything.

Can you just fix my pump?

Yes, we do small jobs too: pumps, filters, salt chlorinators and leaking pipes. We also look after pools on a regular schedule for houses, flats and guest houses.

What's the quickest way to get hold of you?

WhatsApp us on 073 710 8828. If you send a couple of photos of the pool, we can give you a rough idea sooner. You can also call 072 934 7744.
